the cherry
     trees in early August

on their way
     to better perches
     I bet

but only one
     of them will get there first

since you
     can’t predict the immediate

future and
     can’t soon enough

forget what’s
     immediately
     passed
     (t)

the other
     bird might not get there at
     all

but that
     won’t change a thing

for the
     better perch has no way of knowing

since better
     perches are a dime dozen

and just
     noticing two birds passing through

the early
     August cherry trees

in search of
     better perches

I bet is
     priceless

Or at least priceless
     I bet.

Choking on his innocence
He could not deviate from
The bullet that was not his to dodge
And though it would not end well...
At least it would end
One way or another.

To know one in particular

other than next to impossible

takes a particular one

and that seems fair

when knowledge of one is understood

all else is irony.

The one the one the one

the particular impossible one

let us know let us know let me know

one in particular.

Coming to grips at last I wander whilst wondering what took me so long and

The grips I thought I came upon receded before my wondering eyes.

I think perhaps I may be losing my grips once more but

knowing the wandering will usher in the coming to grips in time

Helps assuage my loss of wondering.

I pawned my blues and now

I am richer than most.

People who cling and

are poorer in character

will always be blues richer than those

who are not unlike me.

As I sat watching the trees grow and the hummingbird feed
It occurred to me that life is fast but watching the trees grow can slow it down
Even for just a little bit.

Looks can be deceiving but words received

In context rarely miss

Their intended target unintentionally

So stop and really listen and your receptions will be yours.

As green as the day is long

There has to be some sort of a reason

Why the length to the green

Seems to be in proportion to reality.

But at least I am free to be

Confused.
